Watercolour Picnic Workshop in Cubbon Park
I host these watercolour picnics right in the middle of Cubbon Park. It is not a serious art class, but a space to slow down, mess up some paper, and make new friends under the trees.
This wide view captures the essence of the picnic. A circle of new friends, surrounded by the green of Cubbon Park, all focused on their art. This is the safe and inspiring environment I strive to create.
I love this moment from one of our picnics. The smiles and laughter as everyone opens their welcome kits sets the tone for the whole weekend. It's about creating a warm, shared experience from the very beginning.
Here are two participants from a recent workshop, happy with the little floral cards we made. It's these small, beautiful creations and the memories we make that are the real treasures of our time together.
Our proud group photo at the end of the first day. Seeing everyone hold up their work with a smile is the best part for me. It shows that everyone has a creative spark waiting to be expressed.
A candid shot from one of our sessions. You can see the focus and calm as participants get lost in their painting. I'm always nearby to offer guidance and support.
Sometimes, unexpected magic happens. A friend surprised us with these beautiful handwritten quotes, adding another layer of warmth to our day. Our little art family is full of wonderful people.
Drop your phone, pick up a brush. This video is a direct invitation to disconnect and reconnect with your creative side. We make a mess, but it's a cute one, and we build a community along the way.
Here I am, guiding participants through their paintings. I make sure to give one-on-one attention to help you with your specific questions, whether it's about brush strokes or color mixing.
The 'show and tell' at the end is one of my favorite parts. We lay out all our work, share what we've learned, and appreciate each other's unique perspectives. It's a moment of collective pride and encouragement.
A happy selfie with the group. These workshops are as much about the people I meet as they are about the art we create. Njngal pwoliyalle guys?
About The Watercolour Picnic Experience
This is a two-day weekend session held entirely outdoors, so come prepared with your own watercolours, brushes, and water jar. I provide the professional 300 GSM paper and the welcome kits, but the magic happens when you bring your own tools and get comfortable getting them a little messy in the grass.
A different way to learn
Forget the stiff, formal studios. These sessions are about the joy of being outside in Bangalore, specifically in the green stretches of Cubbon Park. Whether you have never held a brush or just want to spend a weekend away from your screen, this is for you.
What happens over two days
We keep it light and paced over two sessions. On Saturday, we cover the basics: exploring brushes, testing textures, and painting small treasures we find around us, like fallen leaves or flowers. Sunday is for the bigger picture where we move to composition and guided landscape painting. I am there to guide you through every step, answering questions and helping with techniques like colour blending or layering.
Why join?
This is not a bootcamp. We take snack breaks, we share our work, and we treat it like a hang-out. It is about the process, the quiet chaos, and the connection. You might arrive as strangers, but you usually leave as part of a small art family. Njngal pwoliyalle guys? (Aren't we cool, guys?)
Basit
I am Basi. I did not go to art school, I just learned everything from YouTube and the beauty of sketching outside. My goal is to make art accessible and fun for anyone who thinks they cannot paint.
