Traditional Tailoring: Our Process & Quality
From selecting premium Ruby fabrics to precise hand embroidery, see how we craft your traditional attire at Avon Tailoring. Here is a look at the care we put into every stitch.
This is a glimpse into my world. From selecting premium fabrics to the precise work of my expert karigars, every step is handled with care to create exquisite traditional attire like saya, kurta, and pehran.
I listen carefully to customer feedback. In this video, I show how we improved our pocket construction by adding a full cover inside, ensuring no loose threads are visible and providing a cleaner, more durable finish.
From my shop in Mumbai to every corner of India, each order is quality packed and dispatched with care. It brings me great joy to know my craftsmanship is reaching doorsteps across the country.
About Behind the Seams: Our Process & Quality
We do not just stitch, we listen. After feedback about pocket quality, we updated our construction to include a full interior cover. Now, there are no loose threads visible inside, giving your Saya Kurta or Pehran a clean finish from the inside out.
At Avon Tailoring, I believe that tailoring is more than just fabric and thread. It is a responsibility. Whether you are visiting our shop in Bhendi Bazaar or ordering from across the globe, the quality of your garment is my priority.
The Anatomy of Our Stitching
Every Saya Kurta, Pehran, or Sherwani we make goes through a rigorous process.
- Fabric Selection: We source premium materials, including original Ruby fabrics, which hold up well for daily wear and Ziyafat occasions.
- Structural Integrity: We use full inner fusing for our garments. This ensures the coat or Koti maintains its shape, feels solid rather than flimsy, and offers better comfort throughout the day.
- Embroidery Alignment: We pay special attention to 'makkhi' and 'dori work'. We ensure patterns match perfectly at the seams, especially around the collar and placket.
- The Kali Technique: For our winter overcoats and longer pieces, we use the 'Kali' (paneled) construction. This gives the garment a proper flare and allows for easier movement, a detail often missed in mass-produced items.
Remote Fitting
You do not need to be in Mumbai to get a perfect fit. I have refined our measurement process to be accessible and highly accurate. We provide video guides to walk you through taking your measurements, ensuring that even when you are thousands of miles away, the final product feels like it was made right here in our workshop. From the zip pockets on our travel-friendly Izaars to the traditional Ziyafat wear, we ensure every detail serves a purpose.
