Shawls hold memories, especially those gifted as hadiya (special presents). I see so many tucked away, never worn, just gathering dust. With upcycling, that sentimental piece can become something you actually use. Honestly, sachi khushi male che (I get real joy) watching these transformations happen.

What I Make

• Koti (Waistcoat/Jacket): One shawl, simple style. Looks great, easy to layer.
• Jacket for Saya: Needs two shawls. Loose fit, big armholes, meant for comfort over a saya kurta.
• Shawl Overcoat Saya: Three shawls for this one. Kali walo (paneled), long, super cozy. Even folks in Chicago wear these for warmth.

The Process

I don’t just cut and stitch. My karigars (skilled workers) and I start with a chat - you send your shawls, we figure out what works. We plan around the embroidery so those special bits stand out. Every piece gets full inner fusing for structure and warmth. Makes the garment feel solid, not flimsy. We finish with detailed stitching for an ekdam fine finishing (really neat finish).

Fit and Measurements

I make everything custom to your maap (size). Even if you’re far away, I guide you online, with videos too. Fit is usually 99% spot on.
