About Miniature Paintings & Illustrations
When I work on these miniatures, I use heavy-pigment gouache, which creates that smooth, matte finish you see in the gallery. Because the surface area is small, I use specialized detail brushes to ensure every butterfly wing, vine, or sunset wave is crisp and defined, rather than rushing the layers. These small artworks are perfect if you want a custom, high-quality piece that fits comfortably on a desk or a bedside table.
I started my Polaroid painting series to show that you do not always need a huge canvas to capture a mood. These pieces are painted on 300 GSM artist-grade paper, which is sturdy enough to hold the gouache layers without warping.
