Miniature Oil Paintings and Custom Keepsakes
I pour my heart into these tiny canvases. Here is a collection of my favorite miniature oil paintings, capturing moments from mountain escapes to quiet, cozy memories.
This little painting holds a big memory for me, the stunning Chandrataal Lake from my trip to Spiti Valley. I used oil paints on a tiny 3x4 inch canvas to capture the bright blue sky and the snow on the mountain peaks. It feels amazing to hold a whole landscape in my hand.
I was so happy painting this little guy. This is a miniature oil portrait of a Red Panda I saw on my trip to Darjeeling. Capturing the curious look in its eyes on a small 3x3 inch canvas was a fun challenge. I would love to paint your favorite animal too.
There is something so peaceful about a sunset. I used a mix of brushes and a palette knife to create the textured clouds and the reflection in the water. This miniature landscape painting is all about capturing that quiet end of day feeling.
This piece is inspired by a photo of a cozy homestay in Manali. I really enjoy turning travel photos into hand painted keepsakes. You can see the texture of the oil paint on the 3x3 inch canvas, bringing the memory of that peaceful place to life.
To get into the holiday spirit, I painted this cheerful snowman family. I used bright oil colors and added a sprinkle of white paint for the falling snow effect. It’s a small piece of Christmas joy, perfect for decorating a small space.
I find so much peace in painting the pahad (mountains). This miniature landscape shows a quiet stream flowing from snow capped mountains. I focused on the layers of the forest and the movement of the water on this 3x4 inch canvas.
About Featured
When you commission one of these pieces, you’re getting a hand-painted 3x3 or 3x4 inch canvas finished with protective varnish, complete with a tiny pine-wood easel. It takes me about 3 to 10 days to layer the oil paints and let them dry properly before they are ready to travel safely to your home.
Why Miniature Art?
There is something special about holding a landscape or a pet portrait in the palm of your hand. My featured collection here highlights the variety of what I do, whether it is a serene mountain stream in the pahad or a detailed portrait of a furry friend. Every piece here starts as a blank, primed cotton canvas. I use professional-grade oil paints to build up texture, often using a palette knife for those thicker, impasto details that bring a scene to life.
Customizing Your Memory
Many of these works started as someone's favorite photograph. If you have a specific travel memory, a view from a homestay window, or a pet you want to keep close, I can recreate it on a miniature scale.
- Standard Landscapes: Perfect if you just want a generic mountain, lake, or sunset vibe to brighten your desk.
- Detailed Recreations: These are for specific requests, like a portrait of your dog or a sketch of a childhood home.
Caring for Your Painting
Oil paint takes time to set, which is why I need a bit of a buffer for drying and varnishing. Once sealed with gloss or satin varnish, your mini painting is protected from dust and UV light. It is small enough to fit on any desk, shelf, or bedside table. If you want to chat about a specific idea or have a photo in mind you’d like me to look at, just send me a message.
