The beginning stages of the soft pastel peacock. I start by blocking in the main colors and shapes, focusing on the graceful curve of the neck and head.
As I build the layers, the peacock's form begins to take shape. I use different shades of blue and green pastels to create the texture of the feathers.

I start with high-grade, acid-free gallery-wrapped canvas or sturdy wooden panels. I build each piece with care, layering paints to add depth and dimension.
