Space Transformation and Apartment Renovation in Bangalore
Reimagining residential floor plans to enhance natural light, airflow, and structural efficiency through precise architectural intervention.
As part of the 'Zingy Home' renovation, we reclaimed an unused balcony to create this functional home office. Enclosed with glass and wood, it provides a dedicated workspace flooded with natural light without sacrificing the feeling of openness.

About Space Transformation & Renovation
In our 'Zingy Home' project, we specifically replaced non-load-bearing walls with toughened glass partitions, effectively dissolving visual barriers between the living and dining areas to invite daylight deep into the floor plate while creating a distinct, light-filled home office from an unused balcony space.
Our Approach to Spatial Reconfiguration
Renovation is not merely about aesthetic updates. At Architecture Continuous, we view the existing programmatic requirements of an apartment as a base to be questioned and improved. Our process involves identifying dead zones within a layout and introducing structural modifications that maximize both volume and utility.
The 'Zingy Home' Transformation
This project serves as a clear case study in volumetric connectivity. By reconfiguring a traditional 3BHK, we achieved a more efficient 4BHK duplex layout. Key interventions included:
- Structural Optimization: Removing non-load-bearing elements to eliminate circulation bottlenecks.
- Glazing Solutions: Integrating 10mm to 12mm toughened glass partitions, which provide acoustic privacy without compromising the visual flow or natural light penetration.
- Vertical Connectivity: Implementing a straight-flight staircase in wood and glass, allowing for a visual connection between the lower living areas and the newly created upper level.

Many apartments in Bangalore suffer from stagnant airflow and lack of natural light. Our renovations focus on 'opening up' the plan. We prioritize the introduction of shadow channels, cove lighting, and large-format flooring to make even modest footprints feel expansive.
