Curvilinear Exhibition Stalls and Organic Pavilion Designs
We move away from rigid, box-like structures to create fluid volumes that naturally guide visitor flow. These designs utilize soft curves and organic forms to transform temporary exhibition spaces into memorable architectural statements.
The entrance to the Safelam Laminates pavilion was designed to be open and inviting, with layered curvilinear walls creating a sense of depth. The strategic placement of bamboo and a large screen balances the natural and digital elements of the brand story.
This view showcases the interior of the Safelam stall, where flowing, wood-clad partitions create distinct zones for product displays and client meetings. The soft curves and warm lighting establish a sophisticated and welcoming environment for this laminate company.
Wavy, sculptural forms made from the brand's own laminate product stand at the entrance of the Safelam booth. This creative use of material immediately communicates the product's versatility and the brand's design-forward approach.

This wide view of the Safelam booth highlights the various display techniques used, from circular samples to larger oblong panels. The design provides multiple points of interest, encouraging visitors to explore the full range of laminate textures and colors.
The central pavilion for E3 and Skydecor acts as a striking anchor point within the 500 sq.m space. Its curvilinear design, finished in deep red and wood tones, creates a dynamic hub for interaction and branding.

About this collection
Constructing these fluid, curvilinear volumes relies on specialized carpentry techniques using flexi-ply and MDF to achieve precise, organic radii. While the aesthetic is free-flowing, the structural framework beneath is calculated for stability, ensuring your pavilion maintains its integrity throughout the event lifecycle, regardless of whether we are installing a 150 sq.ft boutique booth or a 1,500 sq.ft pavilion.
Architecture as a Short-Lived Experience
An exhibition stall should not be treated as a disposable container, but rather as a transient piece of architecture. My process begins with the brief, analyzing how the brand story dictates the physical volume of the space. Whether we are utilizing heavy MS fabrication for large-scale double-height pavilions or lightweight joinery for boutique setups, the goal remains the same: creating a narrative of movement.
The Geometry of Interaction
Curvilinear forms serve a functional purpose beyond their visual appeal. By employing sweeping arcs and tapering walls, we naturally influence how a visitor navigates the floor. This eliminates the 'dead zones' common in standard rectangular booths. We guide the eye through the space, drawing attention to specific displays, product samples, or meeting nooks through lighting and texture shifts.
Material Application
- Carpentry & Fabric: We utilize flexi-ply to achieve complex, non-standard shapes such as arched vaults and abstract waveforms that standard shell schemes cannot support.
- Surface Finishes: Surfaces are treated with metallic paints, textured wallpapers, or high-end laminates to create depth. For luxury presentations, we integrate UV-bonded glass and brass detailing to enhance the perceived value of the products on display.
- Lighting Integration: Track lights and decorative chandeliers are positioned to highlight the contours of the booth, reinforcing the brand's identity through focus and shadow.
Logistic Reality
Exhibitions move fast. Our team is accustomed to the high-pressure environment of trade shows, frequently managing 24 to 48-hour execution windows. We handle everything from the initial structural blueprints to on-site assembly, ensuring that the final build matches the conceptual vision regardless of the timeline.
Ajay Nirmal Architects
I am Ajay. My approach to exhibition design is rooted in the belief that a stall should function as a short-lived piece of architecture rather than a temporary display. I use curvilinear forms to draw visitors in and create a sense of intrigue, ensuring your brand stands out in a crowded hall.
