Our Farm Philosophy and Team
Meet the people and values behind our sustainable Bengaluru farm, where we grow chemical-free food and cultivate a community committed to the land.
Every day is Earth Day for us. This video shows the life on our farm, from our cattle to the kittens playing in the soil, reminding us that we must work to regenerate our planet and live in harmony with all its creatures.
Every bite counts. These green tomatoes, though not perfectly round, are just as nutritious. We believe in reducing food waste by appreciating produce of all shapes and sizes.
Celebrating Sharanamma, a joyful and strong member of our team. She is the breadwinner of her family, and her hard work and kindness, especially her evening teas, are deeply appreciated.
Meet Selena, a strong and hardworking woman on our team. She works alongside her husband and is motivated to build a better future for her child. We celebrate her dedication.

About Our Philosophy & People
Every tomato we grow and every person on our team tells a story. When you see our 'ugly' produce, know that it is packed with nutrition, and when you meet team members like Sharanamma or Selena, you are seeing our mission of empowering local families in action. Farming here is our koduge, or contribution, to society, ensuring every worker gets fair treatment and every harvest is respected.
At AgroTIE, we believe that agriculture is not just about output, it is about impact. Our Centre of Excellence in Kumbalgodu is more than a farm, it is a space for learning, experimenting, and community building.
Our 'Ugly' Philosophy
We don't believe in wasting food based on looks. If a tomato is irregular in shape or a carrot isn't perfectly straight, we celebrate it. Nutrition does not care about aesthetics. By refusing to discard 'ugly' produce, we minimize food waste and ensure that you get the most honest, chemical-free food possible, grown using only farmyard manure and neem cake.
People-First Agriculture
The heart of our farm is our people. From farmers like Sharanamma, who powers her family with her work, to Selena, who brings her dedication to the greenhouse every day, we are a collective. We don't just grow food, we build livelihoods. We have trained over 8,000 farmers and 3,000 children in sustainable practices, ranging from hydroponics to permaculture.
Why We Do It
- Sustainability: We use Dutch greenhouse technology and local wisdom to conserve water and protect our soil.
- Fairness: Every worker at AgroTIE is a partner in our mission, supported through fair wages and skill development.
- Transparency: We want you to know exactly how your food is grown, from the soilless cocopeat bags in our greenhouses to our open-field organic beds.
Whether you are an aspiring farmer looking to learn, or a home grower wanting clean, residue-free produce, we invite you to join us. Let's work towards harmony, standing together to grow.
AgroTIE
We are a team of trainers, farmers, and learners dedicated to sustainable agriculture in Bengaluru. For us, the farm is a classroom where we blend Dutch techniques with local wisdom to build a greener future.
