Creative Arts Education at American Embassy School
At AES, our arts curriculum goes beyond the stage—it is where students from over 70 countries find their unique voice. Whether in visual arts, theatre, or music, we encourage our Tigers to experiment, take creative risks, and celebrate their growth.

About A Canvas for Creativity: The Arts at AES
Our arts program is not just about the final performance; it is a structured journey of collaboration. From Grade 1 music classes where students choose their instruments to high school theatre productions where they build the set and script from scratch, students are expected to take ownership of their creative process. This means your child will spend as much time experimenting with new materials or digital character design as they will on stage.
Fostering Creativity from Pre-K to Grade 12
We believe that artistic expression is a fundamental part of a child’s development. Starting in Elementary, our students explore rhythms and movement, often using student-choice-driven song selections. By Middle School, this evolves into more complex collaborative projects, like our 'Page to Stage' class where students write and produce their own fractured fairy tales.
Beyond the Classroom
Our students frequently work with visiting professionals, such as the cartoonist Matt Smith, who recently led workshops on digital storytelling and comic creation. These sessions, combined with access to high-end facilities—black-box theatres, recording studios, and dedicated art labs—ensure that students have the tools to turn their ideas into reality.
Performance Opportunities
Whether it is an ASIAC music festival or our Mini-Immersive Theatre Festival, we prioritize giving students a stage. It is common to see our older students collaborating across disciplines: art students design the posters and set, tech students handle lighting, and actors bring the stories to life.
