Behind the Scenes of My Mural Art

Every wall I paint holds a story, and the process is often just as interesting as the finished piece. Here is a raw look at how my murals come to life, from the first sketch to the final stroke.

Just a little animation I made for fun using Procreate. It's interesting to explore how my themes, like the all-seeing eye and hypnotic spirals, can translate into digital and moving art.

This is the full process video for the frog mural at Khaama Kethna Eco Village. It was painted on plywood, which gives the art a unique texture. The music in the background is by my friend.

This is the full timelapse of my first wall art in Bangalore. It was a huge undertaking on a private terrace, and you can see the entire doodle, from the first line to the final complex pattern, come to life.

About this collection

I never use stencils. Everything you see on a wall starts as a freehand sketch, right there on the spot. It is a bit of a risk every time, but it lets me adapt the composition to the texture of your wall, whether it is smooth plaster in a Bangalore cafe or raw plywood in a mountain hostel.

People often see the finished wall and assume it was easy. The reality is usually a mix of early mornings, climbing ladders, and sometimes losing a phone full of process videos. This collection is about the grit behind the art.

My process is purely intuitive. I sketch directly onto the wall, which means I have to be completely present. If I am painting a mural for a cafe or a private home, the environment dictates the flow. I use high-quality acrylics for vibrancy, but the real work happens in the initial ink lines.

I do not just paint walls; I document the evolution of the space. Whether it is a monochrome stippled piece or full-color botanical surrealism, I want you to see the layers. I am learning to document this better—even when my hand shakes—because these pieces are essentially visual diaries of my time spent in those locations. If you are wondering how a blank, boring surface turns into a detailed, surrealist landscape, these clips and time-lapses are exactly how I do it.

Hi, I am Ankita. I turn walls into surreal stories, mostly freehand and usually with a bit of chaos involved. If you want a piece that feels alive and is not just a static decoration, I am probably the one you are looking for.
