Surreal Ink Sketchbook: Custom Tattoo & Art Concepts
These are the raw sketches where my art begins. I explore themes of life, death, and nature through ink lines and surreal symbols. If you want a one-of-a-kind tattoo concept or illustration, let us start here.
An ink drawing exploring themes of the predator and the all-seeing eye, framed within a geometric triangle. This piece combines sharp, aggressive elements with intricate, decorative patterns.
This drawing, titled 'Day 26', is about the connection between life and death. A human face is intertwined with a skull, mushrooms, and twisting vines, representing the cycle of nature.
I call this one a 'Self Portrait'. It's an abstract representation of inner chaos and complexity, with a single eye, sharp teeth, and tentacles, all rendered in detailed ink work.
A surreal ink drawing about temptation, where a human figure is entangled with a skull and abstract, smoky tendrils. It's a reflection on the darker aspects of the mind.
A 'tree of eyes' is a recurring theme in my work. This drawing explores the idea of nature being constantly watchful, with eyeballs growing like fruit from gnarled, ancient branches.
This ink drawing was created for a sticker design. It portrays a figure in a state of sensory overload, with multiple eyes, mushrooms, and hands covering the face, symbolizing an intense internal experience.
A surreal fusion of a moth and a skull, this drawing plays with the imagery of life, death, and transformation. The wings are filled with intricate, abstract patterns.
About this collection
Most people come to me with a rough feeling or a vague memory, and I turn that into a finished ink concept. If you are looking for a tattoo design, do not worry about having a perfect reference image. Send me the story or the symbols you connect with, and I will sketch out a composition that feels personal to you.
This sketchbook is where the boundary between my mural work and tattoo designs blurs. When I sit down to draw, I am usually looking for the point where nature meets the subconscious. Whether it is the recurring eye motifs, the skeletal structures, or the sprawling vines, everything here starts as a meditation on the natural world.
Why these sketches matter
A tattoo is permanent, and a mural is a large commitment. That is why I start with these detailed ink concepts. We work through the composition, the density of the stippling, and the placement of symbols before a drop of paint or ink ever touches your skin or wall.
How we work together
If you see a style here that resonates, we can adapt it. Want that wolf but with your own personal totem symbols? Or maybe you love the surreal, dark vibe of my drawings but want it as a centerpiece mural for your living room? DM me the specific sketch or the themes that catch your eye. We will refine the layout, tweak the anatomy or symbols, and create a final version tailored to your dimensions.
Technical approach
I focus heavily on contrast and texture. I use fine-liner brushes and India ink to get those deep blacks and tiny, distinct details that make a piece pop, whether it is a small forearm tattoo or a full-height wall mural. Every sketch is a manual process, avoiding stencils to keep the flow organic.
