About Newborn Portraits: The First Fleeting Days
I strictly schedule newborn sessions within the first 5-15 days of life, as this is when babies are naturally sleepiest and most comfortable being posed. During this time, I prioritize your little one’s safety above all else, using a climate-controlled studio, white noise, and gentle, baby-led posing techniques to ensure they stay relaxed while we capture these fleeting details.
My approach to newborn photography is rooted in simplicity and safety. Rather than forcing uncomfortable positions, I observe your baby’s natural movements and guide them into poses that feel organic. The studio is a quiet, temperature-controlled space where the focus remains entirely on your infant and the family bond.
I often work with a 'fine art' aesthetic. This involves using dramatic, painterly lighting and textured backgrounds to create portraits that look more like classical paintings than snapshots. We will work through 4-hour sessions to accommodate feeding, soothing, and diaper changes, ensuring the process is stress-free for both the baby and parents.
I offer a range of setups, from minimalist beanbag poses to prop-based shots in baskets. I also highly encourage including parents and siblings to capture that first, profound family connection. All outfits, wraps, and props are provided from my client closet, so you do not need to worry about styling or purchasing gear.
If you are planning to book, please reach out during your pregnancy. Because I prioritize a calm, unhurried pace for every baby, I can only accept a limited number of newborn sessions each month to ensure every family receives my full attention.
