Annual and Sports Day Events at Chimes Montessori
At Chimes, we believe every child has a unique rhythm. Our annual events are simply celebrations of that rhythm, providing a platform to express their confidence, teamwork, and growth beyond the classroom.

About this collection
Our sports and stage events are not about rigid rehearsals or winning medals. Whether it is a relay race or a dance performance, we focus on the process, the coordination, the team cooperation, and the sheer joy of participation. You will not see children stressed or rehearsing for hours; you will see them learning how to move with grace, handle a microphone with confidence, and cheer for their peers in a supportive environment.
For us at Chimes, an event is just an extension of the classroom. We do not believe in drilling steps or exhausting children with endless practice sessions. Our Sports Day, held within our 7,000 sq ft outdoor facility in Basavanagudi, is designed to build gross motor skills and spatial awareness. The focus is on the challenge of the obstacle course or the balance required in a simple game, rather than the competition itself.
Similarly, our Annual Day is not a high-pressure stage production. It is a moment for children to step into a new environment with the support of their teachers. We use these opportunities to foster emotional intelligence. When a child takes the microphone or steps onto the stage, they are practicing focus, public speaking, and self-assurance. We observe how they interact with their peers in a group performance, looking for moments of cooperation and empathy rather than perfect synchronization.
We keep these events authentic to our Montessori roots. The activities we showcase—like the torch relay or specific movement drills—are things we practice regularly as part of our daily curriculum. Parents tell us this is why our students feel so at ease during these events; they are simply doing what they do every day, just with an audience of proud parents. We want children to associate public performance and physical activity with confidence, not performance anxiety.
Chimes Montessori
We have spent over a decade watching children find their feet at Chimes. We are not here to push them onto a stage for an audience; we are here to give them a space where they feel comfortable enough to express themselves naturally, whether that involves running a race or dancing during our annual celebrations.
