About Celebrating Our Traditions
Traditional outfits can be stiff and heavy for little ones, and it is common for them to feel uncomfortable at first. I never rush these sessions. We take the time to let your child settle into their pattu pavadai or dhoti, using play and patience to ensure we capture genuine smiles instead of forced poses.
These shoots are as much about preserving cultural roots as they are about photography. Whether it is a first birthday, a festive occasion like Onam or Pongal, or simply a desire to see your little one in ethnic wear, the focus remains on comfort and natural expression. Our studio in Jayanagar is equipped with specifically designed backdrops—from rustic village scenes with cart wheels and pots to elegant, street-style settings that make the bright colors of silk fabrics stand out.
I understand that children are not dolls, and they rarely follow instructions perfectly. For these cultural portraits, we keep the session relaxed, allowing for outfit changes and snack breaks. Parents often bring family heirlooms or specific jewelry to style the look, and we work around these props to create a timeless portrait. We apply natural skin retouching to ensure the skin texture remains authentic while the richness of the silk fabric pops in the final images. If your child is in the 0-3 age group, we also have a selection of traditional outfits available in our studio wardrobe, so you do not need to worry about finding the perfect fit.
