A Gentle, Patient Approach to Baby Photography
I believe the most beautiful photos aren't posed, they're lived. Here is a peek into how I work with your little one's own rhythm to capture genuine, calm moments.
This image addresses the myth that baby shoots are easy. It explains that babies are on their own schedule, and my job is to work with their rhythm to capture yawns, blinks, and cuddles without disturbance.
A helpful video demonstrating five easy and natural poses for new parents. This shows how I guide families to create beautiful, connected portraits that don't feel forced or awkward.
About Behind the Scenes: Our Gentle Approach
The secret to a good baby shoot isn't a complex pose—it's patience. I block out 3 to 4 hours for every session, which means if your baby needs a feeding break or a quick nap mid-shoot, we pause. We never rush, because a comfortable, fed baby is the only way to get those genuine, relaxed expressions you want in your final gallery.
Many parents worry that a photoshoot will be stressful, or that their baby won't 'cooperate.' The truth is, babies are on their own schedule. When I set up a shoot, whether in my Santacruz studio or at your home, that schedule comes first. I don't follow a strict checklist. If your baby is fussy, we soothe them. If they are hungry, we feed them.
The goal is to capture your family as you really are—full of love, a little bit of chaos, and plenty of warmth. My technique involves gentle, natural lighting and simple posing that doesn't feel forced. We prioritize safety and comfort above everything else. By removing the pressure to perform, we allow those tiny, fleeting details—a yawn, a stretch, a squishy hug—to emerge naturally. You get photos that feel like your family, not a staged production.
