About Beyond the Nets: Fitness and Fielding Drills
We do not believe in 'gym' fitness. Our training focuses on cricket-specific movements—explosive sprints for running between the wickets, agility ladder drills for quick footwork at the crease, and intense, high-pressure catching practice to turn half-chances into wickets. If you want to be a complete player, you have to be ready to put in the mehnat here.
At West Delhi Cricket Academy, our philosophy is simple: catches win matches and fitness sustains careers. We don't just do drills; we replicate match-day intensity.
Whether it is the DDA Hari Nagar Sports Complex or our Paschim Vihar center, you will see our players working on resistance bands to build power, or using stair-climbing drills to develop the lower-body strength needed for long bowling spells. For us, fitness is non-negotiable. We integrate plyometric jumps and core exercises into every session, ensuring that every player has the stamina to perform when the pressure is at its peak.
Fielding is equally important. We focus on the basics: judging the ball in the air, diving technique, and ground-fielding accuracy. Many players come to us looking only to bat or bowl, but they soon realize that fielding is where games are often won or lost. We train our players to be fearless in the field, expecting them to give their hundred percent, every single time. This is not for those looking for an easy route. We are here for those who want to build the physical foundation of a professional cricketer.
