About Timeless Traditional Motifs
When you choose traditional motifs, placement and scale are critical. I focus on building a balanced 'jharokha' arch on the wrist that flows naturally into the central palm design, ensuring the overall pattern looks symmetrical and structured whether you opt for a full bridal sleeve or a lighter engagement piece.
Traditional mehndi is about honoring symbols that have been part of our celebrations for generations. In this collection, you will see my focus on precision and cultural depth, using intricate geometric 'jaal' (net) work to connect larger motifs like peacocks, elephants, and swans. This creates a cohesive piece of art rather than a collection of separate drawings.
Why the technique matters
Because I create my own henna paste using 100% natural, organic ingredients and essential oils like eucalyptus or cajeput, the paste is filtered for absolute smoothness. This consistency is vital when I am drawing fine architectural details like temple arches or thin lotus petals. A smooth flow allows for clean lines, which is the foundation of a traditional design.
Making it yours
While the motifs are classic, the way we arrange them tells your story. I can incorporate specific elements—like a doli, a date, or even a couple's portrait—framed within these traditional borders. This approach gives you the timeless look of a classic design while keeping the details specific to your personality. Whether you are in Mira Road or across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, I bring this process to your location to ensure the experience is stress-free.
