About Pathway to Glory: Player Selections
Selection to a district or state team is not magic, it is the result of persistent 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM sessions on our red soil ground. When you see our players like Ajinkya or Rohan representing Mumbai, it is because they spent months mastering defensive chain formations and specific raid techniques under the guidance of seniors like Sushil Breed and Rakesh Mest, not just showing up for match day.
Our success in producing state-level athletes is built on a simple philosophy: discipline. At Vijay Club, we do not believe in seasonal training. Whether it is the monsoon or the peak of summer, our ground at Shivaji Park remains active from Monday to Saturday. This consistency builds the endurance and agility needed for competitive Kabaddi.
We focus on the tactical side of the game. Our elite squad training covers specific skills like the Dubki, Toe Touch, and complex defensive coordination. Players learn to read the game, a skill taught by our coaches who have themselves been part of prestigious tournaments like the Shri Shivchhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chashak.
But the path to selection starts with the basics. Our junior foundation program teaches young players how to handle the pressure of tournament environments, ensuring that by the time they are ready for the Kishor Gat or Kumar Gat selections, they are mentally and physically prepared. We provide more than just coaching; we provide a career pathway, connecting our athletes with recruiters from the Railways, Banks, and the Income Tax department. When you join us, you are not just signing up for fitness, you are entering a system that has been producing champions since 1949.
