Personalized Portrait Commissions by Abhishek Deheriya
I turn your memories, favorite people, and cherished moments into soulful, hand-painted portraits. Whether it is a childhood memory or a tribute to an icon, let’s capture that emotion on canvas together.
A commissioned watercolor portrait of a client's child. The goal was to capture that look of wonder and innocence. This is the kind of personal, soulful work I love to do.
A secret portrait of a baby, done in watercolor. I often work on discreet commissions for clients who prefer privacy. This piece captures the delicate features and bright eyes of early childhood.
This watercolor portrait was a special commission that is now on its way to a client in France. The video shows the final piece, capturing a moment of quiet contemplation.
The final display of the child's portrait, beautifully framed between his first onesies. This is a wonderful example of how to turn a commissioned painting into a deeply personal piece of family history.
An older watercolor portrait from when I used to sign my work 'Abhi'. It shows my long-standing passion for capturing expression and mood with the fluid and unpredictable nature of watercolor.
The full view of the commissioned child's portrait. The soft background and warm colors keep the focus entirely on his bright, expressive face.
About this collection
When we work on a portrait, I do not just copy a photograph. I work with you to understand the mood you want to capture—the specific vibe of that memory. We will chat first to decide if fluid watercolor works better for softness or if heavy-texture acrylics suit the impact you want. I send regular updates from my studio during the process so you are part of the journey from the first brushstroke to the final delivery.
More Than Just a Portrait
Every commission starts with a conversation. Whether you have a specific photo of a loved one or an idea for a tribute painting, my goal is to create something that feels like it belongs in your home. I don't believe in faceless transactions. When you commission a work from my studio in Bengaluru, you get direct access to me.
The Process
- The Chat: We start with a 30-minute consultation (in-person at our Krishnarajapuram gallery or virtually). We discuss the subject, the emotional tone, and the perfect medium—whether that is watercolor, oil, or acrylic.
- The Vision: For larger pieces, I can provide a digital mockup so you can see how the composition fits your wall space before I start painting.
- The Creation: I work in my studio, often sharing video updates so you can see the progress. For paper works, we use archival 300 GSM Arches paper. For canvas, we use museum-quality linen or cotton, finished with UV-protective varnish for longevity.
Why Commission with Me?
I have seen clients turn these portraits into meaningful family heirlooms. One recent commission involved framing a watercolor portrait of a child right between their original onesies—a beautiful way to preserve a fleeting moment.
We handle everything—from the initial sketch to shipping your artwork in sturdy, protected packaging. If you are in Bangalore, drop by the gallery. It is 7,000 square feet of art, coffee, and open conversation. Let’s create something that actually means something to you.
