About Music & Band Tributes
For that Pink Floyd pair, I didn't just paint the logo. I used a Scotch-Brite pad to lightly scuff the leather, which gave the surface that gritty, textured look you see on the actual album cover. It is those small, manual prep steps that transform a standard sneaker into a piece that feels like it belongs in a record collection, not just a closet.
Music is the soundtrack of our lives, so putting it on your feet makes perfect sense. When we work on a band tribute pair, it is never about just slapping a logo on leather. It is about capturing the aesthetic and the energy of the artists you love.
The Process
Every pair starts with a deep dive into the band's visuals. Whether it is the classic rock grit of Led Zeppelin or the modern pop-culture vibe of your favorite rap icons, we look at the textures, fonts, and colors that define them. I handle the prep, deglazing, and detailed brushwork for every panel, using Angelus Direct paints that are designed for leather.
Durability
Since these are meant to be worn and not kept in a glass box, I seal every pair with a pro-grade Liquid Kicks scratch-resistant top coat. This protects the art from light rain, scuffs, and daily wear and tear.
