Our Performance Training Methods: From Drills to Podium
We don't just run; we train with purpose. Whether it's perfecting sprint mechanics or building core strength, our sessions are designed to push your limits and turn potential into power.
A glimpse into our block start session. We focus on explosive power and technique right from the first step, which is critical for a successful sprint.
Here, I explain the importance of sprint mechanics and foot speed (rate) for the initial phase of a 100m race. Our athletes then put it into practice with a series of agility ladder and hurdle drills.
Agility training is key to making champions. Watch our young athletes work on their coordination and quickness with ladder and mini-hurdle drills.
A typical session at Trackblazers is full of energy. Here, our athletes transition from core strength exercises like sit-ups to dynamic speed drills on the field.
Strength training is just as important as speed training. This video shows our athletes in the gym, working on lunges, bench presses, and pull-ups to build the power needed for explosive performance.
Discipline in the gym translates to power on the track. Our athletes perform pull-ups and bench presses as part of their comprehensive strength and conditioning program.
The Superman pose is a functional exercise that helps our youngest athletes develop crucial body control and coordination. It's a fun way to build the foundations for future athletic success.
Our little champs are leaping to victory. This long jump session for our youngest group focuses on building confidence and fundamental jumping skills in a supportive environment.

Reaching for the skies. A young athlete clears the bar during a high jump session, demonstrating the technique and courage we nurture.
About Training in Action: The Path to Performance
We believe your training environment matters just as much as the drills themselves. That is why our coaching stretches from the clay track for precision sprint mechanics to local gyms for heavy lifting and sandy beaches for explosive plyometric conditioning. By rotating between these settings, we ensure your body stays adaptable and your training remains injury-resistant, whether you are training for your first 100m sprint or perfecting your high jump technique.
Building a Better Athlete
True performance is not built in a vacuum. At Trackblazers, we reject the idea that you can just run your way to the podium. Our training methodology is rooted in periodization—carefully scheduling your load to ensure you peak exactly when competition season hits. We focus heavily on biomechanics, using video analysis to catch the micro-errors in your stride or launch angle that could be costing you precious milliseconds.
The Three Pillars of Our Training
- The Track (Technical Precision): Our sessions at P.A. Mhatre Sports Academy are where we refine your craft. We focus on sprint mechanics—foot rate, ground contact time, and posture. Whether it’s block starts or hurdle drills, this is where we build the muscle memory required for explosive speed.
- The Gym (Force Production): Strength is the engine of speed. We utilize barbell training—squats, deadlifts, and bench presses—to increase your force production. We do not lift for aesthetics; we lift to build the explosive power necessary for the Fosbury Flop or a long jump takeoff.
- The Beach (Stability & Plyometrics): Sand training is a secret weapon for our Mumbai athletes. It forces you to stabilize on uneven ground, strengthening your ankles and core in ways a flat track never could. This is where we conduct our plyometric sessions, working on neuromuscular coordination to prepare your body for the rigors of competitive events.
Whether you are a youngster learning to jump or an adult chasing a personal best, our approach ensures you do not just work hard—you work smart.
Trackblazers
I am Firoz, and I lead the team here. We started Trackblazers because we believe athletics is about the grind, the sweat, and the breakthroughs, not just the medals. My coaches and I are here to make sure you find your pace and build the grit to smash it, whether you are four or forty.
