About Our Story & Community
Every item you see here is a dialogue between traditional Indian heritage and contemporary living. When we collaborate with our makers to develop our studio ceramics or hand-carved mango wood pieces, the goal is simple: to bring objects into your home that feel human, warm, and intentional.
Our journey began with a love for the hands that shape our world. At Thorny Affair, we define our work through 'slow living'—an approach that rejects the mass-produced in favor of the meaningful. We travel to workshops across Rajasthan and Gujarat, working alongside artisans who have mastered their craft over generations.

We believe that when you buy a handcrafted piece, you are not just acquiring an object; you are inviting a piece of someone's life into your space. Our studio ceramics, for instance, are fired in small batches. This means slight variations in color or form are not flaws, but signatures of the human hand at work.
