The Art of Teaching: My Philosophy of Dance Education

I do not teach dance as mere recreation. It is a discipline for fortifying the body and mind. I build dancers from the ground up, instilling poise, grit, and technical precision through a rigorous, old-school approach.

Before I create, I listen. Here is a behind-the-scenes moment where I improvise, following the saxophone to discover pathways in the music before crafting a composition.

A moment of personal practice and expression, demonstrating the technical foundation and artistry that I bring to my teaching.

A moment of quiet intensity, reflecting the deep focus and passion I pour into every aspect of my choreography and teaching.

I believe dance is not recreation, but an education in self-mastery. It is a discipline that imbues a child with lifelong poise, grit, and the ability to command herself with eloquence.

About The Art of Teaching: My Philosophy

I do not teach choreography until a student demonstrates basic technical proficiency. In my studio, a trial session is an assessment of your flexibility, rhythm, and discipline, not a quick, fun routine. I prioritize posture, turnout, and muscle control as the unglamorous but necessary building blocks for any serious dancer.
