Ever wonder how a simple piece of fabric becomes your child's favourite kurta or dress? Here is a look at the hands, the craft, and the slow process behind every outfit at The Little Stitch.

I believe in ethical fashion. This video shows the process of making one of our block-printed shirts, from cutting the fabric to the final stitch. Your purchase supports many skilled artisans.

In the making. This short clip shows one of my skilled tailors stitching an Ikat garment. It's a glimpse into the careful handwork that goes into every piece of clothing I create.

This is how our beautiful block-printed fabrics are made. One block at a time, an artisan carefully stamps the pattern onto the cotton. It's a slow, beautiful process that makes each piece unique.

This graphic breaks down the features of one of my handloom cotton kurtas. From the wooden front buttons to the roll-up sleeves, every detail is designed for style and comfort.

I have options for everyone. This video shows a quick overview of my collections for girls, boys, and babies, highlighting the variety of adorable and functional clothes I offer.

A little look at some samples that never made it to the final collection. I'm always experimenting with new designs and prints. Let me know if you think I should bring any of these back.

This video shows the beautiful variety in my ethnic collection. From block prints and south cotton to Ajrakh and buttis, I love celebrating India's rich textile traditions in my designs.

About From Our Hands to Yours: The Making Of

You will not find mass-produced prints here. Every garment begins with a wooden block and a pair of hands. Our block-printed cottons rely on natural vegetable dyes, meaning no two pieces are identical, and nothing harsh touches your child's skin. We build these slowly, ensuring every stitch in the seam is flat and soft, because we know that even a tiny scratchy thread can turn a good day into a fussy one for a toddler.

Building a brand is not just about the final photograph on social media. Our days are spent hopping between workshops and coordinating with artisans who have mastered their craft over generations. When you see a Kalamkari motif or a piece of handwoven Ikat in our shop, you are looking at hours of intentional work. We avoid fast fashion practices entirely. That means we do not have seasonal collections that hit the landfill in six months. Instead, we create small batches. When a tailor stitches a set, they are focused on comfort, ensuring the bodice has a full cotton lining to prevent transparency and that the waistbands are adjustable for growing kids. We do not use metallic zippers or plastic embellishments that could scratch sensitive skin or pose a choking hazard. Every button you see is made of wood or coconut shell. This is not just a design choice, it is a safety choice. By choosing ethical, locally-made clothes, you are supporting a chain of people, from the weavers and the block-printers to the tailors working in our Mumbai-based setup. It is a slow, messy, beautiful journey, and we are grateful you choose to be a part of it.
