Handcrafted Cotton Kids Ethnic Wear Collection
Explore my handpicked favourites: breathable cotton ethnic wear, soft ghagra cholis, and everyday kurta sets designed for endless play.
This little one’s smile says it all. My Nila Ghagra Choli, made from soft, breathable cotton, is designed for endless twirls and happy moments. It’s the perfect blend of vibrant color and comfort for any celebration.
I believe boys' clothes should be just as comfortable and stylish. This handwoven Ikat shirt is a perfect example. It's soft enough for playtime and smart enough for a family function, letting him run and be himself.
There's nothing sweeter than seeing siblings celebrate together. I love creating coordinated ethnic sets like this one, which lets them match in style without being identical. It’s all about creating those special family memories.
The beauty is in the details. This close-up of my Nila set shows the delicate Jamdani motifs on the peach cotton skirt and the traditional Kasavu border on the peplum top. It’s a celebration of Indian handloom craft.
Even the tiniest members of the family deserve something special. I designed these Angrakha style newborn sets with the softest cotton and easy-to-tie closures, ensuring your baby is comfortable during their very first festivals.
My clothes are made for real life, from pujas to the playground. This little girl is enjoying the swings in our floral block-printed Pakshi Kurta set. It proves that ethnic wear can be beautiful and ready for adventure.
Nothing makes me happier than receiving messages like this. Knowing that my outfits are loved by the whole family, from the baby to her great-grandmother, is the reason I do what I do. It’s all about creating joy.
A closer look at the vibrant Meera Set. The hot pink cotton silk choli features a non-pokey lace detail, and the yellow floral ghagra is fully lined with soft cotton, making it a bright and comfortable choice for any party.
About Featured
Every piece you see here, from the ghagra cholis to the kurta sets, is fully lined with soft Malmal cotton. I deliberately avoid stiff embellishments and scratchy zari so your child feels as comfortable during a festive pooja as they do running on the playground.
When I started The Little Stitch, my goal was simple: kids' clothes should not be boxed into 'occasion wear' or 'everyday wear.' They should be versatile enough for both. This collection is a showcase of that philosophy.
Why I choose these fabrics
I work closely with local artisans to source handwoven Ikat and Kalamkari fabrics. You will notice that my festive pieces, like the Nila ghagra choli, use these traditional techniques but are tailored with a modern, fuss-free silhouette.
Comfort for all ages
For the newborns and infants, safety is non-negotiable. I use Angrakha-style wraps with soft ties instead of buttons or zips, preventing any sharp edges against delicate skin. These sets are made with azo-free natural dyes, so even if the fabric touches their mouth, it is safe. For older children up to 12 years, I include functional pockets and adjustable drawstrings, because I know children hate it when their clothes feel too restrictive.
Designed for the Indian climate
Indian festivals often mean hot weather. By using pure cotton and breathable linings, I ensure the clothes remain lightweight. Whether you are looking for a twinning sibling set for a family event or a durable kurta for a birthday party, my focus remains on quality handloom cotton that lasts through many washes and wears. If you need something specific for an upcoming festival, please get in touch.
The Little Stitch
Hi, I'm Rashmi, the face behind The Little Stitch. I started this journey because I wanted clothes that let kids run and jump without feeling restricted by fussy fabric. Everything here is made with soft, breathable cotton because I believe our little ones deserve comfort every single day.
