Bringing the soul of Indian traditions to your big day. From vibrant Punjabi nights to elegant Assamese-inspired Haldi ceremonies, we blend your heritage with modern design.

A beautiful entrance for an Assamese-themed Haldi, featuring a lush sunflower garland, traditional Jaapis, and hanging Gamchas. It's a vibrant and heartfelt welcome.

The main stage for the Assamese Haldi ceremony. The backdrop features traditional woven mats, surrounded by an abundance of sunflowers and other bright blooms, under a ceiling of bamboo and colourful hanging decor.

For our Punjabi Fun Night, I created this cozy seating area with a traditional charpai, adorned with colourful printed fabrics and cushions. The backdrop gives the feel of a rustic Punjabi village home.

A quirky and colourful photo prop for the Punjabi night. This decorated cycle is draped in Phulkari fabric and adorned with fresh flowers and pinwheels, making for a fun and memorable picture spot.

A small detail from the Punjabi night decor. A hand-painted box and a wooden camel figurine sit atop a small table, adding to the authentic and rustic charm of the theme.

More traditional decor elements, including an ornate brass surahi (water jug) and colourful hand fans, set against a backdrop that evokes the feeling of a Punjabi courtyard.

A simple yet beautiful centerpiece for the Haldi lunch. A wooden tray holds colourful candles and small jars of fresh carnations, adding a touch of rustic elegance to the tables.

About The Desi Touch: Traditional & Cultural Themes

We do not just put up backdrops. We source authentic props like hand-woven Jaapi hats, Phulkari textiles, and antique brassware to build an atmosphere that feels like a home celebration, not a staged event. Each piece is carefully placed to invite guest interaction, ensuring the space feels lived-in and welcoming rather than sterile.

For us, a 'desi' theme should never feel like a costume party. It is about creating a space where the warmth of tradition meets the ease of modern event planning.

Why Traditional Matters

Whether it is a Punjabi fun night with authentic charpais and brassware or an Assamese Haldi with the iconic Jaapi and Gamcha, we prioritize elements that evoke real nostalgia. We focus on tactile, immersive setups—think real flowers (never plastic), local textiles, and cozy seating pockets where guests actually want to sit.

Our Approach to Tradition

  • Authentic Sourcing: We utilize real regional items rather than mass-produced replicas to ensure the vibe remains genuine.
  • Fresh Florals: We use fresh marigolds and local fillers to ensure the space smells and looks organic, steering clear of artificial aesthetics.
  • Cozy Seating: We design lounge areas that encourage mingling, using cushions and rugs that reflect the theme’s colour palette.

Every element, from custom signage to seating arrangements, is designed to reflect your specific heritage. If you are looking for a setup that honors your roots while keeping the aesthetic sharp and stylish, let us talk. We handle the heavy lifting, from sourcing the props to managing the lighting, so the vibe remains authentic from the moment your guests walk in.
