Traditional Indian Celebrations & Authentic Decor
From marigold-draped doorways to intimate, candlelit Sufi nights, I design cultural celebrations that feel both rooted in heritage and deeply personal.
A grand entrance designed for a Teej celebration, featuring a bright yellow canopy adorned with marigold garlands. The pathway is lined with lush greenery and floral arrangements, creating an impressive and welcoming passage for guests.
This video montage captures the key elements of a beautiful Teej celebration we planned. It showcases the vibrant yellow and orange decor, intricate floral details including peacock feather accents, and the overall festive and traditional atmosphere.
A closer look at the Teej stage, highlighting the magnificent floral peacocks. These sculptures, crafted from white flowers with cascading greenery for tails, added a touch of artistic elegance to the traditional decor.
A detailed shot of one of the floral peacock sculptures from the Teej event. The intricate work showcases our commitment to creating unique, handcrafted decor elements that elevate the entire celebration.
For the puja area, we created a stunning Ganesha figure made entirely of yellow flowers. The deity was surrounded by traditional brass lamps (diyas) and arrangements of tuberoses, creating a serene and sacred space.
Another beautiful floral Ganesha installation, framed by banana plants for a traditional touch. This setup, complete with a golden peacock figure, served as a divine focal point for the celebration.
A personalized welcome sign is a detail I love. This clear acrylic sign with elegant calligraphy, framed by marigolds and fresh greenery, warmly greeted guests at the entrance of the Teej celebration.
About this collection
Getting a traditional setup right is rarely just about throwing around marigolds; it is about balancing fresh, fragrant blooms with sturdy structures that survive a full day of festivities. When we plan these, I focus on the lived-in feel—using brass lamps, hand-woven fabrics, and custom floral sculptures that actually mean something, rather than generic props you see at every other party.
Authentic Indian celebrations require a specific rhythm. Whether you are hosting a Teej puja, a vibrant Haldi ceremony, or a soulful Sufi night, the goal is to honor tradition without it feeling like a carbon copy of the last event you attended.
How We Approach Tradition
At La Pitara, we treat traditional events as a responsibility, not just a design task. We handle everything from the fabrication of main stage backdrops to the strategic placement of tuberoses and diyas. Our process involves:
- Fabrication and Aesthetics: We don't just use standard flex boards. We look at textures. If we are doing a Ganesha installation or a peacock sculpture, we ensure the floral density is high enough to look full and realistic, not sparse.
- Lighting and Mood: For an evening function like a Sufi night, lighting is everything. We move away from harsh floodlights and use warm architectural washes and candle groupings to create that mystical, intimate atmosphere.
- Practical Logistics: A beautiful entrance canopy is useless if it blocks guest flow or can't handle a sudden rain shower. We manage the structural integrity of these setups so you can focus on the rituals and your guests.

I’m the one behind the scenes at La Pitara, usually running on caffeine and last-minute fixes to make sure your Haldi or Teej celebration feels exactly like you imagined. I don't believe in templates; I believe in taking your family’s traditions and turning them into a visual story that makes sense in modern Delhi.
