Hand-Painted & Artistic Buttercream Cakes
I treat every cake like a canvas, using fresh buttercream to paint textures, florals, and landscapes. From dreamy northern lights to intricate birds, let’s turn your vision into an edible work of art. 🎨✨
Watch me paint a dreamy northern lights scene on a cake using a palette knife. I love how the layers of blue, green, purple, and white buttercream come together to create this magical, edible landscape.

About Hand-Painted & Artistic Cakes
When I paint a cake, I don't use fondant. I use buttercream as my canvas, applying texture with a palette knife to create depth and movement. It means you get a cake that tastes as good as it looks, with the rich, creamy texture of high-quality frosting in every single bite.
For me, these cakes are more than just dessert. They are a creative outlet where I get to experiment with palette knife painting techniques. Because I work with buttercream rather than fondant, the result is a cake that is light, smooth, and delicious, rather than overly sweet or chewy.
How My Artistic Process Works
- The Canvas: I start with a smooth, chilled base of buttercream or ganache. This provides the stability I need to layer colors.
- The Technique: I use a palette knife to apply thicker, more textured layers of frosting. This is how I achieve the impressionistic look you see on my floral or Ghibli-themed cakes.
- Personalization: Whether it is a hand-painted portrait of your pet, a scene from a movie, or an abstract floral garden, I need about 3-4 days to plan the color palette and composition.
Why Choose Buttercream Over Fondant?
Many of my clients come to me because they want the stunning visual impact of a designer cake but hate the taste of fondant. By using buttercream, I can still offer you intricate details like gold leaf, wafer paper sails, and hand-painted scenery without compromising on flavor. I source only fresh, high-quality ingredients, so the inside of the cake is just as satisfying as the design on the outside.
Since I operate from my home studio in Airoli, I take a limited number of orders to ensure each one gets my full attention. If you have an artistic idea or a specific theme you want to bring to life, let’s chat about it.
