A full home lighting transformation that brings together architectural precision and soft, atmospheric warmth.

In the living room of my Guwahati project, I used a combination of soft curtain-filtered natural light and a modern globe floor lamp. This shows my process from blueprint to brilliance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The dining area in the Guwahati residence features elegant crystal wall sconces that flank a console table. This lighting choice adds a touch of legacy and architectural character to the space.

This dramatic, modern LED chandelier was installed in the entryway of the Guwahati home. Its sculptural form creates a grand first impression, showcasing tailored brilliance and a signature lighting transformation.

A quiet corner in the Guwahati home, brought to life by a single, elegant wall sconce. This demonstrates my belief that even the smallest details contribute to the overall brilliance and craftsmanship of a project.

About Project Spotlight: A Guwahati Residence

For this Guwahati residence, we didn't just place fixtures; we managed the entire lighting logic—from the specific cut-outs required for the ceiling strips to coordinating the switch positioning with the electrician. This ensures the grand chandelier acts as a focal point without overwhelming the living room's quiet, modern aesthetic.

When we started the lighting plan for this home, the goal was to avoid the common mistake of 'over-lighting' a space. We wanted the home to feel like a personal sanctuary rather than a showroom.

We began by analyzing the architectural layout and ceiling heights. For the main living area, we moved away from generic high-intensity floodlights. Instead, we installed recessed COB spotlights with a high color rendering index (CRI >90) to ensure the textures of the furniture and wall finishes looked natural and rich.

The Design Approach

  • Layered Illumination: We used a combination of architectural strip lighting in the ceiling coves to provide soft, ambient bounce-light, paired with task-specific pendants. This allows the owners to switch between a bright, active setting and a dim, relaxing mood at the touch of a button.
  • Technical Coordination: Lighting design is 30% fixture choice and 70% installation logic. We provided the false ceiling contractor with exact cut-out dimensions for all recessed profiles. This avoids the messy, uneven look often seen when lights are installed as an afterthought.
  • The Focal Point: The chandelier serves as the heart of the home. By placing it centrally in the high-ceiling entryway, we created a sense of scale that draws the eye upward, defining the transition between the living and dining zones.

By focusing on these technical details—like lux level planning and proper driver placement—we ensured the final result was balanced. The home now feels warm, refined, and entirely functional, proving that luxury isn't about using the most expensive bulbs, but about placing the right light in the right place.
