A curated look at how layered light changes everything. From award-winning designs to my own home, these projects show how we blend art and science to make spaces feel alive.
Come on a tour of my own home, where I explain my core philosophy of layered lighting. You will see how I use a mix of ambient, task, and accent lights to create different moods, highlight architectural features, and make the entire house glow like a lantern.
This bathroom design shows how lighting can create a personal spa. I used soft, indirect light under the bathtub for a floating effect, a backlit mirror for clear vanity lighting, and adjustable track lights to turn the artwork into a focal point.
I am incredibly proud to have been recognized as one of the world's top 40 lighting designers under 40. This award is a testament to my passion for creating unique and impactful lighting environments for every home.
Sharing my knowledge is a huge part of what I do. Here I am as a speaker at the SmartHome Expo, where I presented on how light can be used to modulate and shape the feel of a space.
About Featured
When you look at these projects, notice the joinery lighting. It is not just about illuminating a shelf; we hide the source to make the objects appear to glow from within. It is a detail that changes the entire mood of a kitchen or study without cluttering the ceiling with downlights.
My design philosophy centers on the idea that light tells a story. Whether it is a luxury bathroom or a residential living room, I avoid uniform brightness. Instead, I use a three-layer strategy: ambient light for a soft foundation, task lighting for functionality, and accent lighting to define the space's character.
For instance, in residential settings, we focus on vertical surfaces. By highlighting textures—like green feature walls or artwork—rather than just the floor, the room automatically feels more spacious and inviting. In the kitchen, we integrate lighting into cabinetry and joinery. This eliminates glare and puts focus on the textures of your shelves and bar.
On the commercial front, such as the Quattroluxe project in Bengaluru, the approach shifts to brand visibility and atmosphere. We use track lights to guide the eye toward specific products, ensuring the lighting feels deliberate, not generic. Every project, regardless of scale, undergoes rigorous planning—from CAD layouts to Lux simulations—to ensure the technical execution matches the creative vision. When we plan a project, we look at the house as a whole, ensuring the facade, interiors, and landscape flow seamlessly.
