Styling for Your Event: How I Match Your Theme

About My Look for Your Event
I do not just walk in and play. Before any booking, I ask for your event's theme and color palette. If it is a traditional religious function, I wear a classic silk saree with traditional jewelry to honor the setting. If it is a high-energy Sangeet or cocktail party, I switch to an Indo-Western outfit that allows me to move freely while keeping the festive mood alive. This ensures the visuals and the music stay perfectly in sync.
For me, an event is a holistic experience. It is not enough to just play the tabla well. If the audience sees a disconnect between the music and the visual, the flow of the event breaks. I invest time in my styling because I want to be a seamless part of your celebration.
How I Coordinate
- Religious and Classical Events: These require a level of grace and respect for tradition. I typically opt for traditional Maharashtrian-style sarees. This look is comfortable for floor-seated performances and aligns with the sanctity of Bhajans, Kirtans, or Natya Sangeet sessions.
- Bollywood and Fusion Gigs: These are all about energy. For these, I curate an Indo-Western look—think Kurtis with denim or styled fusion pieces—that fits the vibe of a cocktail night or a sangeet. This attire gives me the flexibility to stand, move, and engage with the crowd and the DJ console easily.
Why This Matters
When you book me, you are not just hiring a musician; you are hiring a performer who cares about the production value. During our initial discussion, please share the dress code or the aesthetic you are aiming for. I will align my look accordingly. My goal is to add to the atmosphere, not distract from it. Whether it is a close-knit family gathering or a large corporate stage in Mumbai, my presentation is as considered as my technique.
