About My Journey & Our Big Family
Many customers ask me if it is truly possible to bake soft, delicious cakes without butter, maida, or refined sugar. I don't use industrial machinery or shortcuts—every tart, cookie, and chocolate you see is handmade in my kitchen. Because I bake everything fresh and strictly follow Jain dietary standards, my slots fill up quite fast. I started The Dolce Baker when I was 55, turning a simple passion for baking into a full-time journey. As a Jain home baker, my philosophy is simple: if I would not eat it or serve it to my family, I will not put it in your box. That is why my kitchen remains 100% eggless, butter-free, and maida-free.
My path hasn't always been easy. When I first started, I worried whether customers would accept desserts made with almond flour, oats, and natural sweeteners. Yet, the response from my 'big family' in Mumbai and beyond has been incredible. Whether it is a diabetic-friendly cake for a parent or a batch of nutty Nutella tarts for a wedding return favor, seeing these treats become a part of your celebrations is what keeps me going. It is truly humbling to see my healthy, home-baked creations travel from my kitchen in Mumbai to clients as far as Canada and Germany.
