About Traditional Temple & Festival Processions
For these long processions, we take scheduled 15-minute breaks every 45 minutes to keep our energy levels and the rhythm consistent. Since our traditional Chenda Melam is purely acoustic and extremely high-volume, you won't need to arrange external sound systems or speakers for your outdoor procession.
When you bring us on board for a festival or roadshow, you aren't just hiring musicians; you are bringing the authentic sound of Kerala to your streets. Our Grand Festival Ensemble is built for scale, featuring 15 to 20 artists who specialize in high-decibel, high-energy performance.
The Performance
We arrive in traditional Kasavu Mundus, shirtless with traditional Rudraksha beads, ready to perform in parallel lines or circles. We lean heavily on the classic Shinkari Melam and Pandi Melam styles. The sound is completely acoustic, powered by a heavy concentration of Chenda drums and Ilathalam cymbals. This setup works perfectly for large-scale outdoor events like Ganesha Visarjan, temple festivals, or massive Baraats where the crowd needs that raw, percussive drive to keep moving.
Where We Perform
We are based in Padi and Jubilee Hills, but our troupe travels extensively. Whether you are in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, or further out in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, we bring our own transport and maintain all our equipment. You do not need to worry about the logistics of the band itself; we just need a bit of space to move and regular hydration breaks to sustain the intensity. If you are planning a late-night festival, we are fully equipped for night processions, and we love the energy that a live crowd brings to our rhythm. Let us know the scale of your event, and we will tailor the ensemble size to match your crowd count.
