About Training the Next Generation of Referees
Becoming a certified referee isn't just about memorizing rules; it’s about mastering the split-second decision-making required on the mat. During these sessions, we focus heavily on practical hand signal drills and video analysis of complex scoring scenarios, ensuring you understand how to apply World Taekwondo guidelines under the pressure of live competition.
Consistency in officiating is the backbone of any fair competition. Whether I am leading a seminar in Odisha or conducting a refresher course in Rajasthan, my objective remains the same: to equip officials with the technical depth required to manage Kyorugi bouts effectively.
What You Will Learn
Our workshops are designed to align with the latest World Taekwondo (WT) competition guidelines. We move beyond theory to cover:
- Rule Application: Deep dives into current Kyorugi regulations, penalty application, and scoring zone accuracy.
- Hand Signals & Positioning: Precision is non-negotiable. We drill the specific hand signals and physical positioning required for a Center Referee to maintain control without interrupting the flow of the match.
- Dispute Management: Learning to handle protests, weigh-in supervision, and technical issues at the head table with professional composure.
Certification Pathway
These seminars are sanctioned by the Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI). Participants undergo written theoretical tests followed by physical evaluations to assess their readiness for national-level officiating. My role as an official examiner is to ensure that when a referee receives their certification, they are genuinely prepared to uphold the integrity of the sport at any venue across India. If you are an association or federation looking to elevate your event standards, I am available to travel and conduct these workshops tailored to your regional requirements.
