Professional Dreadlock Training and Workshops
Whether you want to master clean sectioning or perfect the manual crochet method, our hands-on workshops strip away the mystery. Learn to build and maintain locs the honest way, without chemicals or shortcuts.
This is a promotion for our dreadlock workshop, led by me, Maggie, and George JD. We teach the complete process, including dreadlock sectioning, creating extensions, and performing maintenance, to help you become a professional dreadlock artist.
About Learn With Us: Dreadlock Workshops
The biggest misconception beginners have is that dreadlocks require wax or chemical bonding to hold. In our sessions, we pull back the curtain on the manual crochet method—a 100% mechanical process that uses only sterile needles to lock the hair naturally. This is the only way to ensure your clients’ scalp health stays intact, and it is exactly what we demonstrate hands-on in our studio.
Learning to create dreadlocks is not just about making hair look textured; it is a technical skill that requires patience and precision. We run these workshops because we see too many people struggling with locs that are poorly sectioned, chemically treated, or improperly maintained.
What our training covers
- Foundational Sectioning: Getting the grid or brick-lay pattern right is 80% of the battle. If your foundations are wrong, the weight distribution will cause thinning later on. We teach you how to analyze hair density and map it correctly.
- The Crochet Method: Forget wax and glue. We teach the manual crochet technique, which uses specific 0.5mm to 0.75mm needles to pull loose hair into the loc body. This creates a tight, natural-looking lock that matures over time without residue.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Knowing how to fix someone else's mistake is a crucial skill. We cover root tightening, repairing broken locs, and managing frizz without damaging the hair shaft.
Who is this for?
Whether you are a hairstylist looking to expand your service menu or an enthusiast wanting to learn the craft properly, our workshops offer a deep dive into the art. We teach the business side too—how to communicate aftercare to your clients and why honesty with the client matters more than the sale. If you are ready to learn why we say 'bedave beda' (don't want it at all) to shortcuts, this is where you start.
