Scope of Work

Custom Braid & Dreadlock Bands
Construction
- Base: Reinforced black/neutral elastic headband.
- Material: High-quality synthetic Kanekalon fibers securely knotted to prevent shedding.

- Style: Choice of Box Braids, Fishtail Braids, Twists, or Faux Dreadlocks.
- Color: Single color, Ombre transitions, or Highlights.
- Density: Standard (6-10 strands) to high volume options.
Accessories
- Charms: Inclusion of metal rings, cowrie shells, or specific charms like Evil Eye.

Dreadlock Maintenance Service
Root Maintenance
- Technique: Interlocking or Crochet method to tighten new growth at the scalp.
- Safety: 100% manual process using sterile 0.5mm - 0.75mm needles; no chemicals used.
Grooming & Care
- Shaft Work: Pulling loose hairs back into the loc body and optional tip blunting.
- Scalp Check: Inspection for tension bumps followed by soothing oil or cooling spray application.

- Duration: 2 to 4 hours depending on regrowth.
- Expertise: Specialist service for Indian hair texture.
Permanent Dreadlock Installation
Pre-Service
- Planning: Hair texture analysis and geometric sectioning (Brick lay or Grid pattern).
- Extensions: Inclusion of high-quality synthetic hair (Kanekalon) for 12-18 inches of added length.
Installation Process
- Method: Instant Locs/Crochet Method without chemical perms.
- Integration: Seamless blending of natural hair with extensions to prevent slipping.
Finishing & Specs
- Styling: Palm rolling and application of residue-free locking gel.
- Volume: Typically 40-70 locs depending on desired thickness.
- Duration: Intensive 8 to 12-hour session (may be split over two days).

My Approach to Dreadlocks
I’m Maggie, and here at Tattoos and Tales, I shape stories with hair, not ink. Dreadlocks are a real journey - not a quick fix. I do fresh installations from scratch, section by section, so your locs get a strong start. Already got locs? I handle maintenance too, using proper crochet dreadlock techniques to keep everything neat and healthy.
Adding a bit of fun, I offer colourful dreadlock wraps or accessories if you want to jazz up your look. If you want to try something different but aren’t ready for a full commitment, I make instant loc headbands - just throw them on and you’re set.
Cornrows, Your Way
Cornrows suit anyone, any hair type. I do simple straight-backs, custom cornrow designs, and patterns that work for both men and women. Short hair, long hair - doesn’t matter. Got a style in mind? Enna venum (what do you want)? Let’s try it.
Workshops & Process
I take my time because good results need patience. Naanu idhini (I am here) to walk you through the aftercare too. If you want to learn, we run dreadlock workshops India style, where we teach you everything from tools to technique.

My Story
Hey, we’re Tattoos and Tales. I’m Srinath, and yeah, we’re that crew who believes every tattoo’s got a real story. Been doing this for 14+ years, two studios in Bangalore - Hulimavu and JP Nagar (Tattoos and Treats). Piercing ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಜನ ಡೌಟ್ಸ್ ಕೇಳ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೀರಿ (people ask lots of piercing doubts) and we love chatting, no sugarcoating. We run workshops too, making sure art stays safe and honest.
