Laser Tattoo Removal Process
Getting a tattoo removed is not just about the laser. It is about patience, managing pain, and trusting the process. Here is how I handle removals at my Dadar studio.
This collage is a great summary of the removal process on a hand tattoo. It shows the original design, the immediate white 'frosting' post-laser, and the final clear skin after the full treatment and healing period.
This video shows a live removal session. Yes, it can be uncomfortable, and I am always honest about that. I use numbing cream and work with you at your pace to make it as manageable as possible.
About The Laser Removal Process in Action
Let’s be real. Laser removal is not a magic button you press once. Your skin will frost over immediately after the flash, and that is completely normal. Most tattoos, especially the older or colored ones, need multiple sittings to fade properly. I use a Q-Switched laser and numbing cream to keep it as bearable as possible, but you have to be ready for the long game.
How the Laser Works
I use a professional Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser. This machine targets the ink particles trapped under your skin and breaks them down so your body can flush them out. For black and grey ink, we use the 1064nm tip. If you have colored ink like red or pink, we switch to the 532nm tip.
The Reality of Pain
I won't lie to you. It feels like a rubber band snapping against your skin repeatedly. It is uncomfortable. I use topical Lidocaine numbing cream 15 to 20 minutes before we start to make it manageable, but there will be a heat sensation. If you are struggling, we take a breather.
What to Expect After
Right after the laser, the skin will turn chalky white. That is called 'frosting.' It fades in minutes. You might experience minor blistering or swelling, which is just your skin reacting to the heat. I apply antibiotic ointment like T-Bact or Soframycin immediately after every session.
Why You Need Multiple Sessions
Your body needs time to clear the ink after the laser breaks it apart. We cannot do it all at once without damaging your skin. We space out your sessions to let the area heal. It is mehnat ka kaam (hard work), but if you stick to the plan, we will clear that skin.
