Transform your school event or birthday party into a world of wonder. My interactive puppetry sessions get children laughing, participating, and building their own stories right from their seats.

A glimpse into a lively puppetry session with students from Grade 1 to 7. From the puppets peeking over the stage to the children's captivated faces, you can see how stories and characters create an unforgettable learning experience.

An interactive storytelling session where the children are as much a part of the story as I am. Using hand gestures and fingerplay, we create characters and scenes together, making it a truly collaborative and fun experience.

From adorable hugs for a fluffy puppet to a room full of children singing along, these are the moments that fill my heart. This is a montage of pure, unconditional love and joy from my sessions with my youngest friends.

Look at all those hands in the air. This is what active participation looks like. During a winter morning session at Suncity School, the students were so engaged, singing along and eager to be part of the story.

The Vizag Junior Literary Festival was buzzing with energy. This clip shows children completely absorbed in the world of puppetry, making their own puppets and sharing in the collective magic of storytelling.

Taking my puppets on tour in Ahmedabad was a fantastic experience. This video captures the magic of connecting with children through stories and seeing them embrace the puppets with so much love and excitement.

A participatory workshop at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in Mumbai. It was wonderful to see fathers jump in to play the roles of storks in the 'Talkative Turtle' story, showing that everyone can join in the fun.

About this collection

My sessions are never about just watching from the sidelines. Whether I am using simple finger puppets to captivate toddlers or guiding older children through character building, the goal is to make the audience part of the story. If you have a space where children can sit on the floor and a group of curious minds, we have everything we need to start.

I believe that every story has a life of its own, and my puppets are simply the vessels that bring them to our world. When I walk into a room, whether it is a bustling school hall in Delhi or a library in Chennai, I am not just looking to entertain. I am looking to connect.

Why Puppetry Works

I use puppetry as an educational bridge. My workshops, like the ones I have hosted at Suncity School or The Chintels School, demonstrate that puppets are 'attendance magnets.' They break down the barriers of a typical classroom, making complex topics like animal classification or science concepts feel like a fun conversation. We don't just recite lines; we play.

What to Expect

  • Interactive Storytelling: Every performance is improvised based on the room's energy. I follow the crowd. If the kids are rowdy, we get loud; if they are contemplative, we slow down.
  • Hands-On Crafting: Many of my workshop packages include a DIY puppet-making component. Kids use socks, felt, and googly eyes to build their own friends, which they get to take home.
  • Pedagogy Meets Play: I work closely with schools to integrate storytelling into existing curriculums. I provide teachers with simple, actionable voice and rhythm exercises that they can use the very next day.

Logistics

I keep the setup simple. I typically require a dedicated performance space, access to a sound system for larger groups, and movable chairs or floor seating. Whether it is a 90-minute birthday special or a full-day workshop for educators, I travel to your location across India. My only firm requirement is an audience ready to be surprised.

I'm Shreedevi, and my puppets are my partners-in-crime. We turn quiet rooms into spaces buzzing with questions, giggles, and 'what-if' moments. Whether it is a folktale for a school assembly or a craft-based workshop for a small group, my goal is to make stories a tool for connection.
