About Power & Precision: Board Breaking
When I teach a student to break a board, I am not teaching them to hit an object. I am teaching them to control their breathing and pinpoint their energy. If you watch my students closely, you will notice they do not rush. They take a breath, visualize the break, and then strike with precision. This mental clarity is the real skill we build in class, whether you are a beginner or aiming for your black belt.
Beyond the Board
Board breaking is a milestone in our Taekwondo training. It is the moment where fear is replaced by self-belief. Many students come to me worried that they lack the physical strength to break a board or a tile, but they quickly learn that it is 80 percent mindset and 20 percent technique. We do not focus on aggression. We focus on the discipline required to stand before a target, maintain your composure, and execute a movement with intent.
Why Technique Matters
We practice using proper setup, including bricks and boards, to ensure safety while testing power. My curriculum breaks this down into:
- Stance Work: Building a base that does not wobble.
- Impact Mechanics: Learning exactly where to strike for maximum effect with minimum risk.
- Breath Control: Using your core to drive the strike, not just your arm or leg.
Training in Mumbai
I run these sessions across my centers in Andheri West and Goregaon West. Whether you are a parent looking to get your child out of the 'phone world' or an adult wanting to build real resilience, the logic remains the same. You learn to handle resistance, get back up after a fall, and approach every challenge with the same focus you bring to the mat. Come for a free trial class and see the difference consistency makes.
