Our Musical Journey: 15+ Years of Jamming
We've been making space for music in Bangalore since 2006. From our first jamming sessions to student festivals, here is the story behind the music.
Our Koramangala centre, circa 2012. What a great space it was! I miss it like mad. So many musical journeys started right here.
The view from the front window of our first center, T1, back in 2015. Fond memories of the good old days.
Our Whitefield centre, circa 2015. T2 before T2! Much work and joy happened here. Hope our old students from this branch remember it well.
T3, as we called it! Our Ulsoor branch from 2019. It was another great space for students to come and learn.
All the way back from the Taaqademy Festival in 2012 at Alliance Francaise. It's amazing to see how far we've come.
Another great capture from our music festival in 2013. Look at these young rockstars! It's a joy to see them still playing music today.
Amazing to think this was almost 13 years ago! A shot from our 2012 festival. It's so satisfying to see these kids grow into seasoned musicians.
The Taaqademy Festival in 2016, which was also a celebration of 20 years of my band, Thermal and a Quarter! That was a jolly good one.
Our first big festival, more than 11 years ago! Featuring the student band 'Second Floor' live on stage.
One of those great moments from our Taaqademy Live show at the wonderful Jagriti Theatre in June 2019.
About Blast From The Past: Our Journey
You're looking at more than just old photos; these snapshots represent years of real, loud, and fantastic progress. We have seen tiny beginners turn into band-leading rockstars across our various centers in Koramangala and Whitefield. If you are wondering if you can actually learn an instrument without getting bored by dusty theory books, these images are your answer. When you step into our studio, you are not just a student; you are part of a community that knows how to play.
From Jam Sessions to Stage Lights
Looking back at where we started—those early days at our first T1 center in 2015—it is wild to see how far our community has come. What started as simple jam sessions in Ulsoor has grown into a space where students now shred Metallica solos and release their own original albums. We believe that music is meant to be felt, not just read, which is why our history is defined by stage performances at places like Jagriti Theatre and Alliance Francaise, rather than just classroom attendance.
Why Our History Matters to You
When you are looking for music classes in Bangalore, you want to know that you are learning from people who actually know the stage. Our teachers are working musicians who have been doing this for years. Whether it is our guitar coaching in Whitefield or drum lessons in Yelahanka, we bring the same energy to your 1-on-1 session that you see in these throwback photos.
Your Path to Performing
- Real Feedback: We use AI-powered skill maps to track your progress, but the real test is our weekly recitals.
- Flexible Learning: Whether you want to drop by our studios for a hybrid session or join online, we make it work.
- Community First: We aren't just here to teach you scales. We are here to help you join bands, meet other musicians, and get that first rush of playing live.
Check out the photos again. See those students on stage? That could be you next season. If you are ready to stop just listening to music and start making it, let's talk.
Taaqademy
I'm Bruce Lee Mani, and Taaqademy is my labor of love. We aren't here to dump boring theory on you; we’re here to help you shred, sing, and find your own sound. Whether you're 7 or 70, come join the noise—we’ve been doing this for over a decade for a reason.
