From my first guitar to a community of over 22,000 students, my goal remains the same: making music fun and accessible for everyone.
This video tells my story, from leaving a corporate job to starting Swirl Music. It's been an amazing journey, and I'm so proud of our team of 75 teachers and the thousands of students we've worked with.

About The Swirl Journey: 25 Years of Music
People often ask how I have managed to keep things fresh for two and a half decades. The secret isn't a complex curriculum, but a commitment to keeping the fun in fundamentals. Whether my team is prepping a school choir for the NCPA or guiding a toddler on their first keyboard melody, we strip away the stiff academic pressure that scares most beginners off. You will find that my mentors are just as focused on your confidence as they are on your scales.
When I left my finance job in 2003, I had a simple guitar and a vision. I wanted to create a space where music wasn't just a subject to be studied but a language to be lived. Today, that vision has grown into a community of over 22,000 students across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area.
Why Our Approach Works
I believe in teaching music for life, not just for exams. That is why we developed our three core tracks:
- Swirl Applause: Designed for the stage. We focus on band dynamics, microphone technique, and overcoming stage fright.
- Swirl Ace: For those looking for formal certification. We align strictly with Trinity College London and ABRSM standards for those wanting a structured, academic path.
- Swirl Aficionado: My favorite track, built for the pure joy of playing. It is perfect for those who want to play and relax without the pressure of grades.
More Than Just Lessons
My team of over 75 mentors understands that music education in Mumbai needs to be flexible. We partner with schools for both during-school and after-school programs, and we provide instrument rentals so that you or your child can try a new instrument without the immediate burden of buying one.
We have sustained a 25-year partnership with institutions like the American School of Bombay because we focus on relationships. We are not just teaching chords; we are teaching students to listen, collaborate, and express themselves.
