Capturing the Spirit of Maharashtrian Traditions
Festivals are when our family bonds shine the brightest. I capture the joy, rituals, and emotions of your special days so they stay with you forever.
It gives me so much joy to photograph the spirit of our festivals. Here, sisters Nihira and Avani celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, one holding a beautiful Bappa idol and the other a plate of modaks. These are the precious cultural memories I love to preserve for families.
About Celebrating Our Culture
I focus on the authentic emotions of the day, like the quiet concentration of a child during a puja or the shared laughter while preparing modaks. Instead of stiff, posed photographs, I look for the candid interactions that make our Maharashtrian festivals so deeply meaningful.
Whether it is the quiet devotion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the vibrancy of a Haldi ceremony, or a simple family gathering at home, my approach is to remain a silent observer. I do not believe in overwhelming you with heavy equipment or rigid instructions. I want you to simply be yourself.
I often use natural light to keep the mood warm and honest. For festivals, I try to incorporate the little details that define our culture, like the marigold garlands, the traditional attire, and the specific way we offer prayers, because these are the elements that tell your family's unique story. If you are planning a ceremony at home or a celebration in a local temple in Navi Mumbai, I am happy to come over, blend in with the guests, and document the day as it naturally unfolds.
These moments go by so fast. A few years down the line, you will not just want a nice picture, you will want to remember the feeling of that day. Let's create something that feels like home. ✨
