Vivartana Studio: Your Creative Space in Kodambakkam
I set up this studio in Kodambakkam to be a sanctuary for movement. Whether you are rehearsing for a performance or filming content, this is a clean, private space to let your creativity flow.
Just me in my favorite space. The studio gets beautiful natural light during the day, which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for practice or a photoshoot.
This video shows the full expanse of the studio during a group class. You can see how the rectangular layout provides ample room for movement and formations.
A quick daytime practice session. The combination of natural light and professional flooring makes the space feel bright and energetic.
The studio is also available for evening and night sessions. The overhead lighting ensures the space is well-lit for practice after sunset.
The details matter. The professional wooden flooring is not only aesthetically pleasing for videos but also provides the right surface for classical and contemporary dance forms.
About The Studio: Your Creative Space
The studio features professional-grade wooden laminate, specifically designed for barefoot dance to minimize joint impact during repetitive drills. It is fully air-conditioned, with wall-to-wall mirrors on the long side to help you refine your posture and expressions.
Beyond the flooring, I have kept the studio aesthetic minimal with plain white walls, which means no visual noise when you are filming your dance reels or choreography videos. I provide an 18-inch ring light and a heavy-duty tripod, so you can easily capture your practice sessions without needing extra gear.
The 600 sq. ft. rectangular layout is spacious enough for solo technique drills or small group rehearsals for Arangetram preparations. Being located in Kodambakkam, it is accessible for most artists in the city. There is a private changing room for those who have multiple costume changes, which is especially helpful during long rehearsal blocks.
Because this is a shared space, I enforce a strict no-food policy inside the studio to keep the wooden floors in top condition. Please note that the studio is on an upper floor, so you will need to take the stairs. Whether you are a classical dancer, a photographer looking for a clean background, or a group needing space to practice, this is a place where you can switch off the outside world and focus on your craft.
