About For Solo Practice & Content Creation
The wooden flooring is professional-grade and shock-absorbent, which helps significantly with long hours of Tattadavu or complex footwork. Because this is a private, 600 sq. ft. rectangular space with wall-to-wall mirrors, you get total privacy to film your content or drill technique without any visual noise or people walking through your frame.
Finding a dance studio that feels like your own sanctuary can be difficult. I designed Vivartana to be a blank canvas where you can switch off the world and just move. Located in Kodambakkam, this studio is built for artists who need consistency and quiet.
The Space
- Professional Flooring: The wooden laminate is specifically chosen to support bare-foot dance and absorb impact, keeping your joints safe during intense practice.
- Studio Aesthetics: You get full-length, wall-to-wall mirrors for posture correction. The walls are kept a clean, scuff-free white, which provides a neutral background for your Instagram Reels or audition tapes.
- Tech Setup: To make your production easier, the room is equipped with a 1.5-ton AC, a ring light, and a heavy-duty tripod compatible with both phones and DSLRs.
Usage Guidelines
Since this is an active learning space for my students, I maintain a strict no-food policy inside the main studio to keep the wooden floor clean and splinter-free. You will find a dedicated private changing room here, so you do not have to worry about costume changes during long rehearsals.
Note that the studio is located on an upper floor with staircase access, so plan your equipment load accordingly. Whether you need a 1-hour spot to drill choreography or a 3-hour block for an Arangetram rehearsal, the space is ready for you to create.
