Birding is not just about watching. It is about seeing. From intricate courtship dances to hunting strikes, these moments tell the true story of Delhi NCR’s local wildlife.

A classic courtship ritual of the Pied Kingfisher, where the male presents a fish to the female. If she accepts the offering, they will mate. It's a beautiful behaviour to witness and photograph.

A male Baya Weaver meticulously works on its nest. He builds this intricate structure to impress a potential mate, showcasing one of the most amazing architectural feats in the bird world.

An Oriental Darter with its prize, a wriggling fish speared on its sharp beak. This action shot perfectly captures the "snakebird" in its element, hunting with precision in the water.

A male Indian Peafowl displays its magnificent train of feathers in a courtship dance. This video captures the scale and beauty of one of nature's most famous rituals.

A pair of Black Francolins during a courtship display. The male fans his tail and circles the female, a behaviour that is fascinating to watch and a challenge to photograph as they are often very shy.

An Indian Silverbill carefully selects and carries nesting material. Even the smallest birds put incredible effort into building a safe home for their future young.

An Indian Pond Heron with a freshly caught fish. The focus here was capturing the moment of success, with the bird navigating a man-made obstacle, a barbed-wire fence, to secure its meal.

A Median Egret delicately plucks an insect from the tall grass. While they are known for fishing, their diet is varied, and this shot captures a different aspect of their foraging behaviour.

After some fishing, this Indian Pond Heron has moved on to "frogging". It's a great example of how birds adapt their hunting strategies based on what prey is available.

The Black Francolin pair seen from a different angle, showing the female's more camouflaged plumage compared to the striking male.

About Action & Behaviour: A Story in Every Shot

Capturing these behaviors requires more than a fast shutter speed. It takes patience to understand the environment. When I guide you, we look for tell-tale signs, like specific calls or preening patterns that signal an action is about to happen, rather than just waiting for luck.
