About Learn With Me: Educational Shorts
It is never just about the shutter click. When we are in the field, we watch for the preening habits, the hunting patterns, and the subtle movements that tell you exactly what a bird is going to do next. My goal is to help you move from simply identifying a species to reading the scene so you can capture the story before the moment passes.
Understanding behavior is the true secret to wildlife photography. You might spot a Blue-tailed Bee-eater, but if you know its specific hunting rhythm—how it perches, waits, and dives—you can adjust your camera settings and position yourself long before the action happens. In these educational shorts, I break down those subtle rhythms to show you what to look for.
Whether it is recognizing the stress signals of a raptor or the intricate courtship displays of a Sarus Crane, these insights change your perspective. It is not just about getting a pretty picture; it is about building a genuine connection with the bird.
In my full-day photography workshops, we do not just walk; we analyze. We study the light, the habitat, and the bird's mood. We look at everything from the 'phoodki' (Plain Prinia) to majestic raptors. You will learn to anticipate actions—like a fishing session by an Indian Darter or a preening ritual—making your portfolio more about storytelling and less about luck. If you are ready to move beyond 'birding' and start 'storytelling,' let’s head out.
Sumit Kumar Sum
I am Sumit. I do not believe in just clicking and leaving. I spend hours in the mud and grass to really understand what makes a bird tick, and I am here to show you how to do the same.
