Traditional Punjabi Elegance in Music Videos
From vibrant Patiala suits to graceful heritage ensembles, I bring authentic Punjabi aesthetics to every frame. Explore my work in crafting classic on-screen looks.
A beautiful still from 'Khabi Seat' featuring Ammy Virk and Sweetaj Brar. I chose this classic yellow salwar suit to create a timeless and romantic Punjabi look that perfectly complemented the song's earthy and heartfelt vibe.
A closer look at the styling for Sweetaj Brar in 'Khabi Seat'. The dusty rose and gold sharara set, paired with a delicate passa and matching earrings, was chosen to create a soft, elegant, and regal look for her scenes.
For the music video 'Aukhe Saukhe', I styled actress Mahi Sharma in a series of graceful and traditional Punjabi suits. This included a beautifully embroidered white suit with heavy, traditional green earrings, capturing a classic and emotional look.
Styling Seerat Bajwa for the song 'Chann' involved creating a look that was both traditional and youthful. This bright magenta suit with delicate gold embroidery and silver jhumkas perfectly captured the essence of young love in a Punjabi setting.
A behind-the-scenes moment with Geet Goraaya. I styled her in this beautiful sky-blue Punjabi suit with intricate silver gota patti work on the neckline and sleeves, creating a fresh and elegant look.
For this shoot, I styled Geet Goraaya in a simple yet elegant floral printed kurti paired with classic silver jhumkas. This look demonstrates how to create a relatable and charming 'girl next door' aesthetic for on-screen characters.
This is from the 'Drivery Anthem' music video, where the goal was to create an authentic, rustic Punjabi village feel. I sourced and styled traditional attire, including turbans and kurtas, to accurately portray the characters and the story's setting.
For the song 'Routine', I focused on creating casual and relatable college-life looks. This included styling the male lead in a simple check shirt and jeans, and the female lead in a printed kurti, to fit the everyday romance theme of the video.
In the music video for 'Akhar', I curated soft and romantic looks for the artists. The styling involved light-colored, simple ethnic wear that enhanced the gentle and heartfelt mood of the song.
Another shot of the detailed styling for Sweetaj Brar. The intricate embroidery on the sharara pants and the soft, flowing dupatta were key elements in crafting this sophisticated traditional outfit.
About Traditional Punjabi Elegance
I don't just pick clothes from a rack. For these traditional looks, I coordinate directly with local boutiques to source authentic gota patti work or specific silhouettes, then handle the fittings myself. If the dupatta isn't draping perfectly or the jhumkas don't catch the light the right way on camera, I am the one adjusting it right before the director calls action.
When I style a traditional music video, I am thinking about how the fabric moves on camera. Whether it is a romantic ballad requiring soft, flowing fabrics or a lively upbeat song needing structured Punjabi suits, every piece tells a story. I believe the styling should feel like a natural extension of the artist's character in the video.
My process starts long before the cameras roll. I work with directors to understand the song’s emotional arc. Once the vibe is set, I source outfits that feel timeless. I often pair classic silhouettes with modern touches, like subtle embroidery or oxidized silver accessories, to ensure the look stays fresh without losing its cultural roots.
On set, my job is to protect that vision. I carry a comprehensive stylist kit, including safety pins, industrial tape, lint rollers, and sewing supplies. A wardrobe malfunction or a misplaced accessory should never pause a shoot. I handle the steaming, the tucks, and the final checks so the artist feels confident and looks camera-ready from every angle.
If you are planning a project, I handle the full scope: mood boarding, designer liaison, and on-set management. You do not need to worry about the wardrobe logistics, as I ensure that every traditional look we curate stays consistent throughout the shoot.
