A home becomes soulful through its details. From hand-laid stone to custom joinery, we obsess over the finishing touches that make a space feel personal.

This is the magic behind the mesmerizing veneer-clad wall in our Kābu project. We had a bespoke wave mural machine-etched onto the veneer, and for the curved corner, our team meticulously hand-drew and etched the rest of the mural on-site to ensure a seamless flow.

This dining room wall panel is more than just decoration; it's a tribute to the client's old garden. We built a hollow plywood panel, carved out stepped niches, and installed delicate lighting before adding the final custom oak beading and hand-painted floral art.

This mirror frame is a piece of art. We pleated a mist-colored fabric around the frame and then hand-stitched raffia twigs and netted blooms onto it, like pressed flowers in a journal. It was about finding the exact texture and stitch to tell the story.

This isn't just wallpaper; it is artwork in thread. This heavily handcrafted embroidered wallpaper took master artisans weeks to create, with every inch detailed with floral motifs, beaded accents, and delicate stitching. It brings texture, warmth, and quiet drama to the space.

Every door detail matters, but the mandir door is sacred. We conceptualized an interesting block pattern for this door, with teak blocks juxtaposed with brass bars holding them in a perfect lattice. The process was laborious, but the outcome is a stunner.

We love customizing every single detail. For this mandir, we created a bespoke floor with statuario marble beautifully inlaid with tiny brass bricks. This designed strip runs all the way to the back panel, and while laborious, the result is absolutely worth it.

We conceptualized a king-size poster bed for this colossal master bedroom. These massive teak posters were custom-designed and turned on a lathe, with wood-carved details on the headboard panel to amplify the charm of this traditional bedroom.

This green dining table makes a statement. After exploring many materials, we chose concrete for its unique feel. The most tedious task was getting the color right, but after countless samples, we landed on this gorgeous green that anchors the dining space perfectly.

This chic nesting coffee table was custom-designed and made in-house. We chose a beautiful grey travertine that fits perfectly with the home's color palette, and the nesting design offers flexibility for the limited space.

In line with the Japandi aesthetic of the Kābu home, we created this minimalist foyer cabinet with defining waves and a color-blocked finish. The chic cabinet adds charm to the compact entryway, with a wooden wall panel behind it acting as a great backdrop.

About Bespoke Craftsmanship: The Art of the Detail

When we design a mandir, we don't just buy off-the-shelf doors. For a recent project, we hand-carved teak blocks and inlaid tiny brass bricks into statuario marble flooring. It was a laborious process, but that specific strip of brass creates a weight and sanctity that a standard door never could. We handle these complex, custom executions ourselves because we believe details are not just aesthetic, they are the soul of the home.

Why We Obsess Over the Details

Design is not just about the final render, it is about the journey of getting there. At Studio Ipsa, we believe that the most meaningful spaces are found in the things you touch every day. Whether it is the curve of a headboard or the specific grout line on a cement tile floor, these choices dictate how a room feels.

The 'Mess and Magic' of Execution

We don't believe in cookie-cutter interiors. Our process involves a lot of trial and error because we prefer to make things from scratch. If we want a specific green for a concrete dining table, we mix samples until it is perfect. If a corner is curved, we draw the mural by hand on-site to ensure the flow is seamless. This means our construction phase is often messy, but it is exactly where the magic happens.

Materials We Love

We work with a palette that feels natural and lived-in. You will often find us working with:

  • Natural Stone: Kadappa, Jaisalmer, and Italian marble laid in heritage patterns.
  • Solid Wood: Teak and reclaimed wood, often turned on a lathe for custom furniture.
  • Textiles: Hand-stitched raffia, pleated fabrics, and heavy embroidery.
  • Metals: Brass inlays and hardware that develop a patina over time.

How We Work

We take on full home makeovers and ancestral restorations in Bengaluru. From the first 2D layout to the final site supervision, we stay involved. We handle the technical drawings, the material boards, and the vendor coordination so that the design intent is never lost in translation. If you are looking for a designer who cares as much about the joinery detail as the overall layout, we would love to collaborate.
