We create pieces that do more than just fill a space. From rotating partitions that redefine your living room to cozy library nooks, we design furniture that sparks conversation and adapts to how you actually live.

This rotating TV partition is a masterclass in functional design. Built with a wood and metal frame, it elegantly separates the living and dining areas while allowing the television to be enjoyed from either side, making the most of an open-floor plan.

A view of the living and dining space, united by the open-shelf partition. The design allows light and conversation to flow freely between the two zones, while the wood shelving provides ample space for books and decor.

From the dining perspective, the partition unit frames the space beautifully. The integrated artwork on the rotating panel adds a creative touch, ensuring the unit is visually engaging even when the television is not in use.

We designed this floor-to-ceiling library with a fun, circular reading nook built right into the shelves. Finished in a vibrant red, it creates a playful and immersive spot for a child to get lost in a book.

Another reading nook from our "quick-fix" series, this time in the shape of a house. The bright yellow color and simple geometry provide a cheerful and imaginative hideaway within the family library.

This rectangular blue reading nook offers a bold pop of color in a monochromatic library. It is a simple yet effective way to create a designated, cozy space for reading that feels both integrated and special.

This ombre blue bench is designed as a conversational piece. The unique, hand-turned legs are all different, adding a playful and artistic element to the functional seating. It is a piece that invites a closer look.

About Functional Art: Partitions & Reading Nooks

When we engineer a rotating partition, we are not just creating a wall; we are crafting a mechanism that reclaims floor space and connects two distinct zones, like a living room and dining area, without ever feeling like a permanent barrier. It is about how you move through your home and how that transition feels in your daily routine.

For us, functional art is a conversation between architecture and the items you own. Our approach goes beyond placing a shelf or a screen. We look at the architecture of your room and ask where the light hits, how you walk through the space, and where you might need a moment of quiet.

The Rotating Partition

In projects like the one at Raghavan Valley, we moved away from static walls. By utilizing a rotating metal and wood framework, we allow the television or the screen itself to serve two rooms simultaneously. This is a technical solution to a common spatial constraint. It keeps the open floor plan feeling light while providing distinct separation when you need it.

Designing for Nooks

Our reading nooks are essentially small architectural inserts. We use vibrant, solid colors like deep red, yellow, or blue against neutral shelving to create a visual pull. These are not just seats; they are geometric frames designed to turn the act of reading into an experience. Whether it is a circular cutout or a house-shaped frame, we build these to provide a sense of enclosure within a larger library or study wall.

Materiality and Craft

Whether it is the ombre blue finish on our conversation benches or the tactile detail of turned wood legs, we prioritize the hand-feel of our furniture. We work with solid wood, metal, and varied textiles to ensure that a partition or a bench feels just as good to touch as it does to look at. We do not simply fill rooms; we build pieces that invite you to pause, sit, and interact.
